“Rangers’ Ticket Allocation for Bilbao Clash Confirmed”

This month, Rangers play Athletic Club in the Europa League quarterfinals. On Thursday, April 10, the Basque team travels to Ibrox for the first leg, before Barry Ferguson’s men travel to Bilbao a week later. It has been confirmed that Rangers have received exactly 2,544 away tickets for their trip to the 53,289-seat San Mames.

Meanwhile, Rangers have officially allocated Bilbao 2,634 briefs for their visit to Glasgow; however, 4,049 of their supporters have applied for a ticket, triggering a ballot. According to the UEFA Europa League rules, “home clubs must ensure that all related services and facilities (e.g. sanitary, catering, and first aid) are available and in operation for as long as these spectators have access to the stadium” and “make at least 5% of the stadium capacity exclusively to visiting supporters in an area of the stadium that can be segregated” (see Article 19 of the UEFA Safety and Security Regulations).

“The price of tickets for supporters in the 5% allocation must not be higher than the price of adult tickets sold to home team supporters in a similar section of the stadium (including tickets sold to season ticket holders, club members, and/or as part of any promotion/promotional package for tickets only for UEFA competition matches).” “In addition, the price of those tickets for visiting supporters will never exceed €40.”
